The Purpose
Wolters Kluwer needed a comprehensive XML-first content management and workflow to support the editorial and production processes for their legal publications. The system consolidates their content in a single central repository and standardizes the quality across their multiple editorial and production vendors. The platform significantly reduces the time-to-publish on the digital content platforms, while still supporting non-standard print output like looseleafs and cumulative supplements.
The Tech
The platform was built using EMC Documentum, and was globally deployed to support tens of international vendors. The Documentum UI layer was completely replaced with a more modern UI, in order to improve the user experience and derive process efficiencies. MarkLogic XML store was integrated for faster XML processing and retrieval.
